I recently finished my first stick dulcimer build, and it sounds pretty good, as I had a few good musicians play it, and they gave pretty positive feedback. My next dreamlist item is a mountain dulcimer, which i want to build myself, as I play the stick model in a similar fashion as the lap version at this stage, so it's better to switch to the lap model.
A 6 String Chromatic Dulcimer (Unison Melody Strings, Unison Middle Strings, & Octave Bass Strings) would be fun to try, it has 3 pairs of strings which makes it very expressive.
So great to see this, Helena! Good points, all round. ❤❤❤
Thanks, DJ! Means a lot coming from you!
Folkcraft is awesome. I went with the Chromatic MaxDAD as it's the largest in range & versatility.

There are 6 String Dulcimers too which have 3 pairs of strings & with a Chromatic Fretboard, it can be used for both Melody & Chords.

Amazing! Your voice is so great, oh yeah and the dulcimer is beautiful as well. Where did you get it?
4 Equidistant Strings is a fun one to try
